UFC 225 Betting: Whittaker vs Romero 2 Odds

The UFC heads to Chicago this weekend for a middleweight title fight rematch at UFC 225: Whittaker vs Romero 2.

The main event is the middleweight bout between champion Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero. At Bovada Sportsbook they’re listing Whittaker as a -240 favorite and Romero as a +190 underdog.

Romero enters the fight 13-2 with 11 of his wins coming by knockout. He last fought at UFC 221 in February when he defeated Luke Rockhold by KO as a -180 favorite.

Whittaker has won his last eight fights and owns a 19-4 record with nine wins by KO and five by submission. Due to a knee injury and a staph infection, he hasn’t fought in almost a year.

Whittaker’s last fight was at UFC 213 in July 2017. That was the first time he faced Romero with the interim UFC middleweight title on the line. That fight went the distance with Whittaker winning by unanimous decision. In that fight, he was a +115 underdog and Romero was a -145 favorite.

Oddsmakers split on Covington-dos Anjos

The interim UFC welterweight championship will also be up for grabs Saturday when Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington meet up in the Octagon. The oddsmakers at Bovada Sportsbook are practically split down the middle in this one, with dos Anjos listed at -120 and Covington at -110.

Covington is on a five-fight winning streak to improve his record to 13-1 with two wins by KO and five by submission. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 119 in October, defeating Demian Maia by unanimous decision as a -125 favorite.

Dos Anjos has won his last three fights and owns a 28-9 record with five wins by KO and nine by submission. His last fight was at UFC on Fox 26 in December where he defeated Robbie Lawler by unanimous decision as a -130 favorite.

Jackson favored over CM Punk

One other notable name on the fight card this weekend is Phil Brooks, aka CM Punk. He’ll make his second appearance in the Octagon in a welterweight fight against Mike Jackson. Punk is a +175 underdog and Jackson a -225 favorite.

Punk made his MMA debut in his last fight at UFC 203 in September 2016. He lost to Mickey Gall by submission as a +280 underdog.

Jackson also made his MMA debut in his last fight, and he also faced Gall. He fought Gall at UFC Fight Night 82 in February 2016 and he lost by submission as a +325 underdog.
