UFC Live: Marquardt vs. Story gives MMA bettors some rare Sunday night wagering action this weekend.
The main event at UFC Live is a Welterweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Rick Story. This will be Marquardt's professional debut at Welterweight after fighting as a Middleweight the last five years. It will be interesting to see how well he makes the transition.
Heading into the fight Marquardt is 31-10 with eight wins by KO and 15 wins by submission. He's a disappointing 2-2 in his last four fights but he did win his last bout at UFC 128 in March by unanimous decision over Dan Miller.
Story as been tearing up opponents lately with six straight wins in the Octagon. He last fought at UFC 130 where defeated Thiago Alves by unanimous decision to improve his record to 13-3 with three wins by KO and two by submission.
Marquardt may be the more experienced fighter in the bout, but he's also six years older than Story. Marquardt is a +115 underdog in the fight at 5Dimes, while Story is a -145 favorite going for his seventh win in a row.
Also on the main event card at UFC Live is a great Heavyweight bout between two former kickboxers, Checik Kongo and Pat Barry. This could be all-out standup slugfest if both fighters decide to keep the fight off the ground.
Kongo has a 1-2-1 record in his last five fights after recording a draw against Travis Browne at UFC 120 in October. His record heading into the weekend is 15-6-2 with nine wins by KO.
Barry has a 2-2 record in his last four fights and last entered the Octagon at UFC Fight or the Troops 2 in January where he defeated Joey Beltran by unanimous decision. At 5Dimes Kongo is the favorite in the bout at -190, while Barry is a +165 underdog.
The rest of the main event card at UFC Live is a Welterweight bout between Matt Brown and John Howard and a Heavyweight showdown between Matt Mitrione and Christian Morecraft. At 5Dimes the favorites in those fights are Howard at -270 and Mitrione at -275.
